Employment Supports Program
Objective
While funds are extremely limited in the area, the Employment Supports Program is designed to assist individuals to enter or re-enter the labour market.
To provide for employment supports is necessary for employment.
An Employment start-up allowance may be used to cover costs associated with:
Purchase of work clothes.
Certification and Testing.
Equipment (e.g. Safety glasses).
Other items that GREAT determines as eligible.
Eligible Participants
Individuals who do not have access to Employment Supports elsewhere. Individuals must be registered with Grand River Employment and Training (G.R.E.A.T.)
Individuals will provide a resume to G.R.E.A.T. at the discretion of the Program and Services Officer, (PSO) after assessment has been completed.
Financial Assistance
An Employment start-up allowance of
up to a maximum of $250
may be provided
once
per fiscal year.
Exception
to the $250 start-up allowance may be permitted under special circumstances such as for people with disabilities.
Criteria
Prior approval is required from the Programs and Services Officer (PSO) of G.R.E.A.T. Receipts/Quotes are required prior to the issuing of cheque.
