Parking Costs


Where parking fees are charged at the training site a participant may receive funding based on the receipts submitted to the PSO. Once established this fee will be included as a part of the training allowance.

Mandatory Course Related Costs


Training courses may require a participant to purchase items over and above those covered by course tuition. These may include equipment, clothing, starting tool kits, etc. Funding may be available on a per participant basis to cover mandatory costs as stipulated by the institution, supporting documentation is required.

Training Outside of Canada


  • Participants may be eligible for training program assistance to attend training courses outside of Canada only when no similar or equivalent training course is offered in Canada.
  • Participants may be eligible for course costs (tuition) up to comparable course costs in Canada.
  • Allowances and tuition may be provided in Canadian funds and the individual will be responsible for paying the remaining amount of tuition caused by the Canadian/US currency rate difference.


Workshops and Seminars


Employed Individuals


may be eligible to receive up to a maximum of $450 to cover workshop and/or seminar fees. No travel costs will be provided.

Eligible Participants


must demonstrate in writing how the workshop and/or seminar will benefit their career and a letter of support must be provided from their supervisor on indicating the requirement of the individual to attend based on training plans and/or results of an evaluation.

Self-Employed Individuals


may be eligible to receive up to a maximum of $450 to cover workshop and/or seminar fees. No travel costs will be provided. Self-Employed participants must demonstrate in writing how the workshop and/or seminar will benefit their career, business and the community.
