Mobility Assistance
Objective
The Mobility Assistance Program is designed to provide access to jobs available
in another locality.
Eligible Participants
- Unemployed and have little or no possibility of obtaining employment locally.
- Must no longer be required by law to attend school.
- Must have a confirmed job interview in Canada.
- Six Nations Band Members.
- Individual must be registered with Grand River Employment and Training
(G.R.E.A.T.)
- Individual will provide a resume to G.R.E.A.T. at the discretion of
the Program and Services Officer, (PSO) after assessment has been completed.
Financial Assistance
Travel
To enable a worker who cannot find suitable employment locally to attend a
confirmed job interview and/or firm job offer in the nearest locality. Travel
assistance is provided at ten cents (.10)/km from residence to interview site.
Relocation
Covers the costs incurred for the relocation of the worker and his/her
dependants to a confirmed job.
- Up to a maximum of $3,200 may be provided in a lump sum amount
payable to the worker based on the number of dependants and distance between the
worker’s home and the location of the new job.
