Mobility Assistance
Objective
The Mobility Assistance Program is designed to provide access to jobs available in another locality.
Eligible Participants
Unemployed and have little or no possibility of obtaining employment locally.
Must no longer be required by law to attend school.
Must have a confirmed job interview in Canada.
Six Nations Band Members.
Individual must be registered with Grand River Employment and Training (G.R.E.A.T.)
Individual will provide a resume to G.R.E.A.T. at the discretion of the Program and Services Officer, (PSO) after assessment has been completed.
Financial Assistance
Travel
To enable a worker who cannot find suitable employment locally to attend a confirmed job interview and/or firm job offer in the nearest locality. Travel assistance is provided at ten cents (.10)/km from residence to interview site.
Relocation
Covers the costs incurred for the relocation of the worker and his/her dependants to a confirmed job.
Up to a
maximum of $3,200
may be provided in a lump sum amount payable to the worker based on the number of dependants and distance between the worker’s home and the location of the new job.
