To provide Six Nations students with work experience for the summer months.
Businesses, Organizations, Public Health and Educational Institutions.
- Six Nations Band Member, 15-24 years of age, up to 29 for person with disabilities
- Planning the return to school in the fall.
- Residents of Ontario, and eligible to work in Canada.
- Not currently working for the employer applying for the subsidy with an exception for students whose part-time jobs (24 hours/week or less) will be increased to full time (35 hours/week or more) while participating on Summer Job Service.
- Wage subsidy up to a maximum of $2.00/hour
- Special costs related to a disabled participant may be provided if required.
- Job Subsidies are negotiated to last for a maximum 16 weeks, from April 1st to September 30th.
- Operate and offer jobs in Ontario.
- Be in private, non-profit or broader public sector.
- Be in compliance with Workplace Safety and Insurance Coverage, or equivalent insurance, and third party liability insurance coverage.
- Have proper bookkeeping practices and policies in place.
- Have a Revenue Canada Taxation number to remit an individual's Employment Insurance Benefits.
- Not hire student(s) before applying for the program.
- Not be receiving government funds from any other program for the same student or job placement.
- Not displace existing staff with students hired through this program.
- Not receiving training funding from any other source for the same employer.
