Targeted Wage Subsidy
Objective
To provide work experience for Six Nations of the Grand River Band Members by providing wage subsidies to employers.
Eligible Employers
Businesses, Organizations, Public Health and Educational Institutions.
Employer Criteria
Employers
must
have a Revenue Canada Taxation number to remit an individuals’ Employment Insurance benefits.
Employers
must
ensure full-time employment upon completion of the training program.
Employers must have proper bookkeeping practices and policies in place.
Employers must have third party liability or WSIB coverage.
Detailed training plans must be submitted, thus ensuring the employer's commitment to training the individual.
Eligible Participants
Six Nations Band Members
Unemployed individuals who are either eligible to receive or are currently receiving Employment Insurance benefits (E.I.)
Individuals who have received E.I. in the last
three years
on a regular claim or;
For those who have received E.I. in the last
five years
on a special claim – maternity, parental or sick.
Individual must be registered with Grand River Employment and Training (G.R.E.A.T.)
Individual will provide a resume to G.R.E.A.T. at the discretion of the Program and Services Officer, (PSO) after assessment has been completed.
Financial Assistance
Negotiable up to entry level salary as determined by client need. No Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs) are covered.
Third Party Training Costs negotiable.
Duration
Projects will last for a minimum of 12 weeks up to a maximum of 52 weeks dependent upon skill level of the individual.
The minimum workweek will be 30 hours per week.
