Youth Internship Program


Objective


Youth Internship provides post secondary graduates with career related skills enhancement and work experience to help them make a successful transition into the labour market. Priority given to business and finance, environment, technologies such as engineering or computer sciences, and health science.

Eligible Participants


  • Post secondary graduates up to the age of 30 years, who are unemployed or underemployed Six Nations Band Members.

Eligible Coordinators


Businesses and organizations

Employers must have:


  • Revenue Canada Taxation number to remit an individual’s Employment Insurance Benefits.
  • Proper bookkeeping practices and policies in place.
  • Third party liability or WSIB coverage.

Financial Assistance


  • Negotiable, up to 100% of entry level salary or wage.
  • Limited training dollars may be available.
  • Special costs related to disabled participant may be provided if required.
  • No MERCs provided.

Duration


Up to 52 weeks.

Criteria


Should result in full time employment in career related field.
